Opera Festival of Chicago Chicago Theatre reviews
Van the Man
The Opera Festival of Chicago's concerts are always difficult to describe due to their extensive repertoire. Their band sounded great and their voice was very strong. Their show started promptly at 8:00 PM and lasted 90 minutes, beginning with piano and transitioning to saxophone on Moondance. The second song, Brown Eyed Girl, was a crowd favorite early on.
I would have preferred a more bluesy set, but with Opera Festival of Chicago, you take what you get. The audience's biggest reaction was to their rendition of Georgia, followed by the blues tune Help Me. Overall, the show was excellent, marking my fourth time seeing Opera Festival of Chicago. I feel the crowd was somewhat subdued and didn't fully appreciate the band's solos or the performers themselves. Despite this, I would attend another concert by Opera Festival of Chicago.
